Worlds Larges Gathering of Daleks

Who wants to go for a World Record!?!

2008 was the third World Record attempt and so far, the biggest gathering of Daleks in the UK and indeed, the world. As with previous world record attempts, the Book of Records criteria stated that, to qualify for the record, the gathering had to be comprised of as many Daleks, or people in costumes ‘closely resembling a Dalek’, as possible.

Counting was done by a registration system, where each Dalek signed up and was allotted a number. A ticket (displaying the number), was then displayed prominently on each Dalek. When it was time for the record attempt, the list or registrants was checked against the numbers on the Daleks taking part. All very efficient.

The number of actual Dalek props came to 44, while there were also 51 Dalek costumes present too, giving a Dalek total of 95! Aside from being a successful world record attempt, the event was organised to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Daleks first appearing on our screens. The event is fondly remembered as one of the best, by the many Dalek owners and Dalek Cosplayers that attended.

With the Last world attempt being successful on the 45th Anniversary of the Television show Doctor Who it is time to make the 50th Anniversary a NEW WORLD record, this time in TORONTO! Lets show the UK that North America loves the Daleks just as much as they do and even more!

The Event will take place on Saturday August 24 2013, during Fan Expo. The location will be in the North Building of the MTCC- Metro Toronto Convention Center. We will have people at the door to guide you in and direct you to the registration desk and assign a number, along with your photo which will be posted to this site as an official member of the World Record attempt. Also we will have the SPACE channel on hand for filming the entire event to be shown on Innerspace and News releases.
