So appendages. At first, I was just going to use a basic whisk and plunger. But then I thought, boooooring.  Why not go all out? Be...the Dalek QUEEN! So, I bought a paint roller frame and took it off the handle, painted that and two broomsticks silver, and my plunger head black.  I attached the plunger and paint roller frame to the broomsticks (I hot glued the roller and the plunger just screwed right onto the broomstick), and , voila! I have Dalek appendage 'staffs!'  Yeah, they'll probably be a pain to carry around at cons, but they're different and I think they're cool!  Up next is the last part--The ears and eyestalk! Pics to come as soon as they're completed! |

Aaaaaaand, DONE! With the ears and eyestalk easily crocheted up (the pattern is in the eyestalk section of this board), my Dalek costume is complete! It's not as pretty as the other eyestalks, and I eventually hope to learn to make one that has lights, but it'll do for the record attempt.    See you all at Fan Expo!  |
